Smoky Bacon Wraps

It's no secret that we will use any opportunity we can to whip up something. We love to cook and we love to share our creations with those around us. Friday nights board game night with friends was the perfect opportunity to try out some new creations.

Adam, like most men, has a love for all things bacon. Who can blame him? Bacon is one of those perfect foods that fits with pretty much any combination of flavors. Sweet and salty and the perfect accompaniment for a game night snack.







Smoky Bacon Wraps


WHAT YOU NEED
  • 2 packages of Lil Smokies
  • 1  lb of bacon 
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • toothpicks

First slice your bacon into three to four sections.


Next, wrap your Lil Smokies in the bacon. Once wrapped, secure with a toothpick. 


Arrange your Lil Smokies in a baking dish. 


In a medium bowl mix together the brown sugar and the cayenne pepper (or if you are lazy like me, keep it classy with some tupperware).


Once the pepper and sugar are combined sprinkle over the smokies. Be sure to make a heavy coat as it will cook down in the oven.


Cover and refrigerate at minimum for one hour. These can be made ahead the night before so that they really soak in all of the flavor.


Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Cook Smokies until the sugar has melted and the bacon is crisp (about 45 minutes to an hour).

VOILA! Smoky Bacon Wraps!


Transfer to your serving dish. Serve warm and watch them disappear!


Smokey Bacon Wraps

2 packages of Lil Smokies
1  lb of bacon 
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
3/4 cup brown sugar
toothpicks

Slice a piece of bacon into four pieces. Next, roll a Lil Smokie in the bacon and secure with a toothpick. Repeat until all are wrapped. Arrange in a backing dish and set aside. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar and the cayenne pepper. Sprinkle liberally over the wrapped smokies. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake lil smokies uncovered until the sugar has melted and the bacon is slightly crisp (45 minutes to an hour).
